Piers Morgan couldn’t resist a dig at Jose Mourinho after Manchester United lost 2-1 to Huddersfield Town in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils were unbeaten in eight Premier League games heading to the John Smith Stadium following a run of six victories and two stalemates.

Manchester United scored 21 times and kept seven clean sheets in their opening eight fixtures to look clear favourites to win at Huddersfield.

However, the home side made the breakthrough in the 28th minute thanks to Aaron Mooy’s second Premier League goal before Laurent Depoitre capitalised on Victor Lindelof’s mistake to make it 2-0.

Manchester United put the hosts under relentless pressure in the second half and finally made the breakthrough with 10 minutes to go when Romelu Lukaku’s cross found Marcus Rashford in the Huddersfield area.

Manchester City were 3-0 winners against Burnley to extend their lead to five points at the top of the table after Manchester United dropped points for the second successive weekend.

Arsenal shareholder Morgan couldn’t resist winding up Manchester United fans on Twitter with a cheeky tweet aimed at their controversial manager.

Morgan wrote on Twitter: “BREAKING: Mourinho can’t do it on a wet Saturday in Huddersfield.”

Manchester United are looking to win the Premier League title for the first time since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement.
