Juan Mata insists he is optimistic Manchester United can claim three points at Huddersfield on Saturday.

The Red Devils will be looking to make a swift return to winning ways at the promoted side next weekend,

Manchester United settled for a point at Anfield last weekend after holding Liverpool to a goalless draw at Anfield.

The 20-time English champions were criticised for showing a lack of adventure on Merseyside as Manchester United secured a goalless draw at their rivals for the second successive season.

Manchester United are in second place in the Premier League table but two points behind current leaders Manchester City following their dour stalemate.

Jose Mourinho’s men have effortlessly dispatched most of their other Premier League opponents so far this term following six wins and two draws.

Manchester United midfielder Mata is confident Manchester United will pick up three points at promoted side Huddersfield Town on Sunday afternoon.

“Next weekend we will be back in the Premier League with our third away game in a row, this time against Huddersfield,” Mata wrote on his personal blog.

“I’ve never played in that stadium so I will have to add it to the ‘Matamundi’.

“Again, we will have to be really competitive there, but the truth is we are doing it this season and that’s why I said above that I feel optimistic.”

Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table but won the EFL Cup and the Europa League to secure a return to the Champions League.

The Red Devils signed Benfica defender Victor Lindelof, Everton striker Romelu Lukaku and Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic in the summer transfer window.
