Michael Owen states his prediction for Huddersfield v Man United
Michael Owen looks ahead to Manchester United's clash with Huddersfield Town in the Premier League
Michael Owen is backing Manchester United to ease to a comfortable victory over Huddersfield Town in Saturday’s Premier League clash.
The Red Devils head into the game looking to get back to winning ways in the top flight after their goalless draw with Liverpool at Anfield last weekend.
Manchester United have made a fine start to the new season under Jose Mourinho, with the Red Devils having won six of their opening eight games.
Mourinho’s men are currently second in the table and just two points behind leaders Manchester City as they look to try and win the title for the first time since Sir Alex Ferguson’s final campaign in charge in 2013.
And former Liverpool star Owen is not expecting Manchester United to have any problems against Huddersfield Town this weekend.
Writing in his blog for BetVictor, Owen said: “Manchester United’s goalless draw at Anfield showed just how good ‘The Special One’ is at continually adjusting his side for every unique test in the top-flight and I expect him to do likewise when travelling to Huddersfield Town.
“Jose Mourinho has lost just 2 of 39 games against newly-promoted sides in the Premier League and I expect United to win without conceding at the John Smiths Stadium.”
Manchester United finished sixth in the Premier League table last season but won both the Europa League and League Cup in Mourinho’s first campaign in charge.
The Red Devils have made a strong start to their season in the Champions League, with Manchester United having won their opening three games in the group stage to leave them on course to qualify for the last 16.
