The Germany playmaker came on as a late substitute during the 2-0 win over West Brom last week but he missed the midweek trip to BATE Borisov in the Europa League.
Now, Wenger has revealed that Ozil has been struggling with a knee issue, which will keep him out of the clash with Chris Hughton’s men at The Emirates on Sunday.
Speaking at a news conference before the game on Thursday, Wenger said: “[Ozil’s injury is] very short-term. He is not far, but he is not enough for Sunday.”
Wenger also confirmed that Laurent Koscielny could miss Sunday’s game due to an Achilles problem.
He continued: “We have a doubt about Laurent Koscielny unfortunately and he will have a test tomorrow. It’s an Achilles problem, it’s on-going. I think everybody else should be available.
“Sead Kolasinac had some problems, but he is available. That’s basically it.”
Arsenal are looking to make it back to back wins in the Premier League for the first time this season after a stuttering start to the new campaign under Wenger.
The north London side are aiming to break back into the top four this season after they finished in fifth place last term and missed out on Champions League qualification.
The Gunners have not won the Premier League title since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 campaign, but they have won the FA Cup in three of the last four years.
