Frank Lampard admits he loves watching Liverpool but pointed out his big concern about Jurgen Klopp’s side.
The Reds have endured a mixed start to the 2017-18 season in both the Champions League and the Premier League.
Liverpool picked up seven points from their opening three Premier League games but the Merseyside outfit have only earned four points in September so far.
Klopp’s side have struggled defensively after conceded 11 times in the Premier League ahead of their trip to Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon.
Worryingly for Liverpool, the goals have started to dry up at the end other end of the pitch following 1-1 stalemates with Burnley and CSKA Moscow.
However, Chelsea legend Lampard admitted that his biggest concern for Liverpool is how exposed Klopp’s side can be when the Reds push forward.
“I love watching Liverpool. [But] my fear is they open up,” Lampard told BT Sport.
“You see Moreno playing so advanced. Both full-backs push so high. It’s brilliant to watch.”
Liverpool finished in fourth place in the Premier League table in Klopp’s first full season in charge at Anfield.
The Reds boss signed four players in the summer transfer window to improve his squad ahead of a return to Europe.
Liverpool will welcome bitter rivals Manchester United to Old Trafford in their next Premier League game at Anfield on Saturday 14 October.
