Steven Gerrard tells Liverpool FC fans: I’m a big believer in Jurgen Klopp
The Liverpool legend issues his backing for Jurgen Klopp despite the Reds' much-documented struggles over the past month or so

Steven Gerrard has reiterated he is a “big, big believer” in Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp despite their tricky start to the Premier League season.
The Reds have only managed to win one of their last seven games in all competitions to leave their Premier League title bid in doubt and raise questions about their ability to reach the latter stages of the Champions League.
Liverpool’s only win in September came in a 3-2 win at Leicester City at the King Power Stadium to leave Klopp’s men seven points behind leaders Manchester City and Manchester United.
The Merseyside outfit lost 5-0 to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium last month before stalemates with Burnley, Newcastle United, Sevilla and Spartak Moscow in both the Champions League and the Premier League.
Liverpool will welcome bitter rivals Manchester United at Anfield in their next Premier League game on Saturday 14 October.
Former Reds captain Gerrard issued his backing for Klopp despite Liverpool’s much-publicised defensive problems over the past 24 months or so.
“We are seven games in and Liverpool are capable of going on a long run of winning games,” Gerrard told BT Sport.
“I am very, very confident that this season can be a success, whether that be in the league or in Europe or the FA Cup. I am a big, big believer in this manager.”
Liverpool finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last term to secure a return to the Champions League.
The Reds signed four players in the summer transfer window to bolster their squad.
