Jurgen Klopp replies when asked if Liverpool FC could have signed Man United star
Jurgen Klopp discusses the possibility of Liverpool FC signing Romelu Lukaku in the summer transfer window

Jurgen Klopp has admitted that bringing Romelu Lukaku to Liverpool in the summer would have been an “interesting” move, but insists that a switch was never on the cards.
Lukaku was heavily linked with a transfer to Chelsea before he ended up signing for Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United side back in July.
The former Everton striker has made a brilliant start to life at Old Trafford and looks like he could well be the man to fire Manchester United towards a Premier League title challenge this season.
Liverpool were never really touted as one of the main contenders for the Belgian striker’s signature during the summer transfer window.
And Klopp has opened up about the possibility of Liverpool making a move for Lukaku in the most recent window.
Klopp told a news conference at Melwood last week: “For us, the market was not really there.
“We had no chance for [Romelu] Lukaku. That would have been an interesting move.
“You cannot buy just because you think you will not score enough. We have enough chances and we will score.”
Klopp is currently preparing his Liverpool side for their Premier League clash against Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Sunday afternoon.
His Reds side are then set to come up against Lukaku when they host Manchester United in the Premier League at Anfield after the international break on Saturday 14 October.
Liverpool finished fourth in the Premier League last season as they secured a return to the Champions League.
