Simon Mignolet has warned Manchester United that Liverpool will be determined to get back to winning ways when the Reds host Jose Mourinho’s men at Anfield after the international break.

Liverpool were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by Newcastle United in the Premier League on Sunday as they were left in seventh place in the top flight table.

Jurgen Klopp’s men have now only won one of their last seven games in all competitions as they look to try and get their campaign back on track.

Manchester United, meanwhile, have been in superb form so far this season and are currently in second place in the Premier League, level on points with leaders Manchester City.

Mourinho’s men are set to face their toughest test of the season so far when they take on the Reds at Anfield on Saturday 14 October.

And Mignolet has declared that the Merseyside outfit will be ready to get back to winning ways by beating Manchester United later this month.

Speaking to Liverpool’s website, Mignolet said: “Everybody will be away in another environment and when they come back we’ve got that one to look forward to.

“I’m sure everybody will be focused on their international duties now but when they are back they have a big game to look forward to. We will be ready for it.”

Liverpool are aiming to challenge for the Premier League title this season after they ended up in fourth place in the table last term.

Manchester United, meanwhile, are also aiming to win the title after their disappointing sixth-placed finish.
