Jamie Redknapp has warned Liverpool that the Reds don’t look like the same team without Sadio Mane in the side.

The Senegal international has developed into a key player for Jurgen Klopp’s team since his arrival at the club from Southampton last summer.

Mane, however, will be out of action for the next few weeks after suffering a hamstring injury while on international duty with Senegal.

It remains to be seen exactly when the attacker will be back in action for the Merseyside outfit, but Redknapp has claimed that the Reds do not look like the same team when he is not involved.

Speaking on Sky Sports News on Friday morning, former Liverpool star Redknapp said: “They haven’t got that blistering pace when he doesn’t play.

“When I watched Liverpool before Mane arrived, everyone wanted the ball to feet. It was nice football, very technical.

“But Mane gives you that completely different dimension.”

Liverpool return to Champions League action on Tuesday night with a trip away to Maribor.

The Reds have drawn both of their opening group stage games this season against Sevilla and Spartak Moscow.

Liverpool will then get back to Premier League action next weekend when they take on Tottenham at Wembley in another crunch clash for Klopp’s side.

The Merseyside outfit finished in fourth place last season but the Reds will be aiming to challenge for the Premier League title this term.
