Liverpool’s “fab four” aren’t world class – yet, according to Mikael Silvestre.

Jurgen Klopp signed Egypt international Mohamed Salah in a £39m deal from Serie A giants AS Roma.

The Liverpool signing has already struck up an understanding Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

Klopp had the chance to start the quartet for the first time in a 1-1 draw with Russian side Spartak Moscow in the Champions League last month.

The Reds boss rested Firmino for Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with Newcastle United at St James’ Park before the international break.

Klopp’s attack has received lots of praise for their thrilling performances this term.

Liverpool trio Firmino, Mane and Salah have been particularly impressive as a combination.

Former Manchester United defender Silvestre rubbished the suggestion Klopp’s “fab four” aren’t world class – yet.

“They are good players but hardly world class yet,” said Silvestre, speaking exclusively to 888sport.

“Over the course of the ninety minutes you would expect them to make some chances because they are talented but there is not one goal-machine from Salah, Firmino, Mane or Coutinho.

“They are missing that clinical player because at the end of the day it is this one you have to be worried about, the one you expect to finish20-25 times a season. Liverpool doesn’t have one yet. United are going to be tested but I think they can control these guys.”

Liverpool also signed Chelsea teenager Dominic Solanke, Hull City defender Andy Robertson and Arsenal midfiedler Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the summer transfer window.

The Reds have also agreed a deal to sign Naby Keita from RB Leipzig in next summer’s transfer window.
