There appears to be no love lost between Conte and Mourinho, with the Italian manager selected as the coach to take over from the Portuguese coach on a permanent basis at Stamford Bridge following his sacking back in December 2015.
Conte hit out at Mourinho last week and told the Manchester United boss to mind his own business after the Red Devils manager said he wouldn’t “cry” about injuries like other Premier League coaches.
However, former Manchester United midfielder Scholes believes that that simply shows that Mourinho has already got under Conte’s skin this season – and is tipping sparks to fly when the Red Devils travel to Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on 5 November.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Scholes said: “Has Mourinho got under Conte’s skin? It looks like he has done a little bit.
“Conte was probably badly advised, someone told him they were talking about him but Mourinho didn’t mention anyone’s name. He just said ‘other managers’. Conte’s had a little bite back.
“November 5 [when Chelsea play Manchester United] could be interesting.”
Chelsea won the title in style in Conte’s first campaign in charge at Stamford Bridge last season.
Manchester United, meanwhile, struggled to find consistent form in the top flight as they ended up sixth in the table, although they did win both the League Cup and the Europa League.
