Eric Bailly has spoken of his delight to return to the Manchester United team and help the Red Devils ease to a 1-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon.

The 20-time English champions have been without Bailly since the centre-half picked up an injury problem while on international duty with the Ivory Coast earlier this month.

Manchester United conceded twice in a 2-1 loss to promoted side Huddersfield Town last weekend as Victor Lindelof struggled when asked to cover for Bailly and Phil Jones.

However, the Ivorian returned to the Red Devils team for the visit of their title rivals at Old Trafford this weekend and Bailly helped David De Gea to keep his seventh clean sheet of the season.

And Bailly was thrilled to make his comeback from an injury problem and help Manchester United to secure three points.

Bailly posted the above photo on his Instagram page and wrote the following caption:

“Happiness means playing again and earning a big victory like today’s. 😄 Thanks, Old Trafford, for the incredible support! 🙏🏾”

Manchester United are in second place in the Premier League table and five points behind current leaders Manchester City.

The Red Devils signed Bailly in a £30m deal from Villarreal in the 2016 summer transfer window following Mourinho’s appointment as manager.
