Nemanja Matic has admitted that it’s not always easy working with Jose Mourinho at Manchester United because the manager is so demanding.

The Serbian midfielder is currently enjoying his second spell of working with the Portuguese coach after the pair combined at Chelsea in recent seasons.

Mourinho moved quickly to bring Matic to Manchester United in the summer transfer window after it became clear that Chelsea were willing to sell the midfielder.

Matic has been a regular fixture in the first team at Old Trafford since the move and has earned plenty of praise for his steady performances for the Red Devils.

The Serbian midfielder is now getting used to working with Mourinho for the second time in his career and Matic says that he is the best manager that he’s ever worked with.

Matic is quoted as saying by Metro: “Jose is a brand and the best coach I’ve ever worked with.

“Sometimes it isn’t easy to work with him, because he always demands more. Even when you play the best match in your career, he considers that you can play better in the next match.

“I co-operated excellently with him at Chelsea, and the fact that Mourinho is the coach at Manchester was the decisive factor in my choosing my new environment.”

Manchester United return to Premier League action on Saturday with a trip to newly-promoted Huddersfield Town.

The Red Devils are currently in second place in the Premier League table and two points behind leaders Manchester City in the top flight.

Manchester United are aiming to win the Premier League title for the first time since their final triumph under Sir Alex Ferguson back in 2013.
