Jose Mourinho has ruled out ending his career at Manchester United.

The Red Devils appointed Mourinho as Louis van Gaal’s successor in May 2016 following a fifth-place finish in the Dutch coach’s final campaign in charge.

Mourinho led Manchester United to sixth spot in his first campaign but the Red Devils won the EFL Cup and the Europa League in the Portuguese coach’s first season.

The Red Devils secured their return to the Champions League thanks to a 2-0 victory over Eredivisie outfit Ajax in the Europa League final.

Manchester United are in second place in the Premier League table and two points adrift of leaders Manchester City.

The 20-time English champions played out a goalless draw with Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League’s early kick-off on Saturday afternoon.

Mourinho, though, isn’t planning to see out the remainder of his managerial career at Old Trafford despite landing the most prestigious role in English football.

“What I can say is that I am still a manager with questions, with ambitions, with a desire to do new things and I am sure that I will not finish my career here,” Mourinho told Telefoot.

Manchester United are looking to win the Premier League title for the first time since Sir Alex Ferguson’s final campaign in charge.

The Scot signed off on his decorated career with a 13th Premier League crown but no Manchester United manager has come close to winning the title since Ferguson’s retirement.
