Jose Mourinho has rubbished speculation suggesting the Manchester United manager could quit and take over Paris Saint-Germain.

The Red Devils appointed Mourinho as Louis van Gaal’s replacement in May 2016 following the club’s fifth-place finish in the Premier League.

The former Real Madrid boss failed to steer Manchester United back into the top four in his first full season in charge at Old Trafford.

The 20-time English champions won the League Cup and the Europa League to secure a return to the Champions League under Mourinho.

The Portuguese coach has transformed Manchester United into title contenders this season following a return of six victories and two stalemates.

Manchester United are two points behind leaders Manchester City after scoring 21 times and keeping seven clean sheets in their opening eight games.

Speculation in the media over the past week have linked Mourinho with a potential exit amid talk of interest from cash-rich PSG.

Speaking at his pre-match media conference ahead of Manchester United’s clash against Benfica in the Champions League on Wednesday night, Mourinho addressed the speculation surrounding his future at Old Trafford.

“I think you English media have the answer for that because, in one day, it says that I am going to sign a five-year contract, for £1billion per season and then, the next day, you say that I am leaving and going to PSG. I think that is the answer,” Mourinho said.

“The answer is that nothing is happening. I am not signing a new five-year contract and I am not leaving for PSG. I am at Manchester United and I have a contract. And that is it.”
