Pat Nevin sends warning to Man City about Man United in title race
The Chelsea legend warns Manchester City that Jose Mourinho has the know-how to lead Manchester United to title glory

Pat Nevin has warned Manchester City that Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho knows how to win the Premier League title.
The Red Devils are level on points with Manchester City at the top of the table following their 4-0 win against the division’s basement club Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
The Citizens put down another marker in the title race with a 1-0 win against defending Premier League champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge thanks to Kevin De Bruyne’s winner.
Pep Guardiola’s men were 5-0 winners against title rivals Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium at the start of September before scoring a further 11 goals in their next two games before last weekend’s trip to Chelsea.
Manchester United have only scored one goal less than the Citizens after netting 21 times and keeping six clean sheets to keep pace with Guardiola’s all-conquering team.
Mourinho won the Premier League title three times during two different spells in charge of Chelsea before taking over the reins at Old Trafford back in May 2016.
Former Chelsea winger Nevin is confident Manchester United are genuine Premier League title contenders.
“I felt it was the case before the start of the season,” Nevin told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“I went one side of the fence and went with Man United. Man City being the more beautiful side to watch makes no difference when it comes to winning the league. Manchester United under Jose Mourinho know how to win.”
Manchester United will make the trip to bitter rivals Liverpool in their next Premier League fixture at Anfield on Saturday 14 October.
