Phil Neville insists he wants Manchester United to win the Premier League title this season at any cost.

The Red Devils are in a good position in the Premier League table following a return of 20 points from their opening eight games.

Manchester United settle for a goalless draw with Liverpool at Anfield last weekend as Jose Mourinho was criticised for showing a lack of adventure on Merseyside.

Indeed, the Red Devils were content to sit back and soak up pressure as Liverpool registered 20 shots on goal but were unable to find a way past David De Gea.

Manchester United haven’t won the Premier League title since Sir Alex Ferguson stood down as manager in 2013.

And ex Red Devils defender Neville insisted that he doesn’t care about Manchester United’s style of play as long as Mourinho’s men get their hands on the Premier League trophy.

“With my Manchester United supporter’s hat on, I want to win the league this year,” Neville told BBC Radio 5 Live.

“Yes, I want to win it with a certain style but more importantly I want to win it. Jose is the man who will not care about style. He will want to win the league.”

Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table in their first full season under Mourinho.

The Red Devils won the EFL Cup and the Europa League to finish the 2016-17 season on a positive note.

Manchester United signed three players in the summer transfer window in an attempt to improve their squad.
