Luke Shaw has revealed his delight at being back in action for Manchester United after he came off the bench in the Red Devils’ 2-0 win over Swansea in the League Cup on Wednesday night.

The England defender has found his first team opportunities at Old Trafford to be severely restricted since Mourinho’s appointment at the club back in the summer of 2016.

Shaw has struggled with a series of injury and fitness problems but he came off the bench to play the final three minutes against Swansea and notch up his second appearance of the season.

And the defender was clearly delighted to get some more game-time as he bids to hold down a regular spot in the first team at Manchester United in the remainder of the season.

Shaw posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account after the 2-0 victory and wrote the caption: “Great to be back on the pitch! Nice one @jesselingard ⚽️⚽️, onto the next round 💪🏻#MUFC #CarabaoCup”

Shaw will once again be hoping to be involved when Manchester United return to Premier League action on Saturday lunchtime with a crunch clash against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are aiming to get back to winning ways in the top flight after their shock 2-1 loss to Huddersfield Town last weekend.
