Juan Mata heaps praise on Marcus Rashford following his strong start to the season with Manchester United
Juan Mata has heaped praise on Marcus Rashford following his “brilliant” start to the season for Manchester United.
The 19-year-old striker has been a regular fixture in the first team for Jose Mourinho’s men this term and has earned plenty of praise for his performances for the Red Devils.
The teenager has scored two goals and made three assists for Manchester United in seven Premier League appearances for Mourinho’s side and he notched up two assists in the 4-0 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Rashford is widely regarded as one of the Premier League’s most exciting young attacking talents.
And Spain international Mata has been thrilled by the way Rashford has begun the new campaign under Mourinho.
Mata is quoted as saying by the Daily Star: “I think he has been brilliant this season.
“I think he is a special kid. I think he has a lot of talents and he has got a good mentality, which is important in that age.
“He is performing very well, week in and week out.
“Even coming from the bench he is helping a lot. I really believe he is going to be a big player for club and country.”
Manchester United will return to Premier League action after the international break with a crunch clash against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday 14 October.
Mourinho’s men are currently in second place in the table and level on points with leaders Manchester City after a strong start to the campaign in which they have only dropped two points in seven Premier League games.
Manchester United have not won the title since Sir Alex Ferguson’s final campaign in charge in 2012-13.
