Chris Sutton has agreed with Phil Neville’s assessment that Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford is on course to be a world-class player.

The England centre-half has made a brilliant start to the Premier League season despite coming under pressure from Anthony Martial for his left-wing spot.

Rashford has scored two goals and has made three assists in seven appearances in the Premier League to make a solid start to the 2017-18 season.

The Manchester United striker scored on his Champions League debut in a 3-0 victory over Swiss side Basel at Old Trafford last month.

Rashford’s impressive early-season form led Neville to boldly claim that the Manchester United striker is on course to rival Paris Saint-Germain sensation Kylian Mbappe.

Former Chelsea striker Sutton believes Rashford is starting to enter the world-class category.

“Didn’t Phil Neville compare Marcus Rashford to Kylian Mbappe? He said he was up there,” Sutton told BBC Radio 5 Live.

“We are talking about world-class players.”

Manchester United won the EFL Cup and the Europa League in their first season under Jose Mourinho.

Rashford played a key role in helping the Red Devils to secure a return to the Champions League after scoring some vital goals en route to the Europa League final.

The Red Devils signed Benfica defender Victor Lindelof, Chelsea teenager Dominic Solanke and Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic in the summer transfer window.
