Jose Mourinho has insisted that he has “no idea” when Paul Pogba will be back available for selection for Manchester United.

The French midfielder has been out of action since suffering a hamstring injury during Manchester United’s Champions League win over Basel at the start of the season.

Pogba has been working hard on his fitness levels at Manchester United’s training ground over the last few weeks but he is still not ready to make a return to the first team at Old Trafford.

And Manchester United boss Mourinho has insisted that he is not yet sure when Pogba will be back available for selection again.

Speaking at his pre-match news conference before Manchester United’s Champions League clash with Benfica on Monday afternoon, Mourinho said: “I have no idea. Honestly. I am not in control of his recovery process. He is not training with me.

“He is on individual work and when a player is on individual work I cannot predict.

“I would expect Marcos Rojo to return after the international break because he is training with me. But with Paul I have no idea.”

Manchester United were 1-0 winners over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Saturday as they kept pace with Manchester City at the top of the table.

That result left Mourinho’s men in second place in the table and five points behind leaders Manchester City after 10 games.

The Red Devils travel to Chelsea in their next Premier League game on Sunday as they look to continue their challenge for the title this season.
