Ray Wilkins is tipping Manchester United to win the Premier League title this season.

The Red Devils have started the new campaign in top form and have only dropped points in one of their last seven Premier League outings.

Manchester United have won six of their opening seven Premier League games to move up to second place in the table and level on points with early pace-setters Manchester City.

Mourinho’s men have also made a fine start in the Champions League by winning both of their opening group games.

Former Chelsea coach Wilkins believes that Manchester United have the strongest squad in the Premier League, and is tipping them to win the title in Jose Mourinho’s second season in charge at the club.

Speaking on Sky Sports News on Wednesday morning, Wilkins said: “I think personally they have the best squad in the Premier League,” Wilkins said.

“They’ve lost Pogba for the last couple of weeks. I know (Sergio) Aguero is going to be missing as far as Manchester City are concerned.

“But when you look at what they’ve got who’s come in, Herrera was one of their best players last year and he’s playing a bit-part role at the moment with (Juan) Mata.

“(Nemanja) Matic is playing out of his skin, (Henrikh) Mkhitaryan is a different player to what he was last year.

“I think Manchester United have every chance of going the whole hog.”

Manchester United return to Premier League action with a crunch clash against local rivals Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday 14 October.

The Red Devils are aiming to win the Premier League title for the first time since Sir Alex Ferguson’s final campaign in charge in the 2012-13 season.

They finished sixth last term in the Premier League table but won both the Europa League and League Cup.
