Man United trailing Serie A giants in race to sign 28-year-old from title rival – report
Manchester United are competing with Inter Milan for the signature of Mesut Ozil, according to reports

Manchester United are trailing Inter Milan in the race to sign Mesut Ozil, according to reports in England.
The London Evening Standard is reporting that the Serie A giants have entered the race to sign the Germany international in the next transfer window amid ongoing uncertainty surrounding the attacking midfielder’s long-term future at The Emirates.
The same article states that Ozil is unlikely to commit his future to the north London side despite entering the final 12 months of his Arsenal contract.
According to the same report, Manchester United haven’t made an approach to sign the 28-year-old but the Red Devils could be forced to oust themselves as potential contenders to sign Ozil with Inter Milan weighing up a move for the World Cup winner.
Ozil, of course, spent three seasons under the management of Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid and was part of the Portuguese coach’s title-winning side in 2012-13.
The German midfielder has been regularly criticised for his poor performances in the Premier League against Arsenal’s biggest rivals.
Ozil hasn’t started for the north London outfit since a 3-0 win against Bournemouth at the start of September as the ex Schalke 04 man continues to struggle with a troublesome knee problem.
