Manchester United will be presented with the chance to sign Gareth Bale in an £89m deal from Real Madrid next summer, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish outlet El Confidencial, as quoted by the Sun, is reporting that the La Liga champions are set to give the Red Devils the opportunity to finally sign the Wales international after being linked with the Wales international regularly over the past three seasons.

The same article states that Bale could be sold despite the 28-year-old declaration that he is happy in the Spanish capital following his £85.3m move to Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013.

According to the same story, Real Madrid have grown frustrated with Bale’s persistent injury problems and the club’s president Florentino Perez is happy to offload the Welshman if los Blancos can recoup his transfer fee.

Jose Mourinho admitted that he was interested in the former Spurs winger during the summer transfer window but conceded Bale was no interested in a return to the Premier League in the near future.

The Manchester United boss has built an impressive team over the past 12 months or so at Old Trafford but there is a feeling that the Red Devils need to sign a wide player.
