Manchester United are keeping a close eye on AS Roma forward Lorenzo Pellegrini, according to reports in England.
Sky Sports, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Red Devils are monitoring the 21-year-old attacker following Pellegrini’s impressive start to the season.
The same article states that both Manchester City and Manchester United to send scouts to watch Pellegrini during Roma’s Serie A clash against Verona last weekend.
The Italian club activated a buy back option to sign the Italy international in a £9m deal from Sassuolo in the summer transfer window.
Pellegrini scored 11 times in 53 games in all competitions during his two-season stay with Sassuolo to convince Roma to bring the attacking midfielder back to the Italian capital.
The newly-capped Italian midfielder has scored two goals in six appearances in both the Champions League and the Serie A so far this term.
Manchester City are sitting at the top of the Premier League table following a return of 22 goals and five clean sheets in their opening seven games.
The Citizens were 1-0 winners against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last weekend thanks to Kevin De Bruyne’s goal.
Manchester United are level on points with their derby rivals at the top of the table.
