Ander Herrera believes that Manchester United are poised to beat Tottenham and underline their Premier League title credentials on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils head into the game looking to get back to winning ways in the top flight after the disappointment of their shock 2-1 loss to Huddersfield Town last weekend.

That result caused Manchester United to lose pace in the race for the Premier League title, with the Red Devils now five points behind leaders Manchester City in the top-flight table.

However, Jose Mourinho’s men bounced back to winning ways on Tuesday night when Jesse Lingard scored twice to hand them a 2-0 victory over Swansea City in the League Cup.

Herrera will be hoping to help Manchester United claim victory over Tottenham at Old Trafford on Saturday, and the Spanish midfielder is backing the Red Devils to claim the three points.

Herrera is quoted as saying by the Daily Express: “It’s going to be very, very difficult but we play at home in front of our fans and we have to try to win.

“We want to move forward because this club is all about fighting for everything and we are still in four competitions.

“It is a massive game and our fans have to realise we need them on Saturday. We need them to push us to try and win the game because Tottenham are a top team.

“It will be very tough but we have to try and win first of all because Spurs are a direct rival for the title and secondly because we play at home.”

Manchester United are aiming to improve their Premier League form this season after the Red Devils finished sixth in the table last term.

However, the Red Devils did win both the Europa League and League Cup last season under Mourinho following his appointment in May 2016.
