Martin Keown delivers verdict on Arsenal signing: He’s excellent
The Arsenal legend believes Alexandre Lacazette is an excellent addition to the north London club

Martin Keown has issued his backing for Arsenal signing Alexandre Lacazette after the striker’s impressive start to the Premier League season.
The Gunners signed the France international in a club-record £52m deal from Ligue 1 side Lyon in the summer transfer window to improv Arsene Wenger’s attacking options.
Lacazette has scored four times in six appearances to transfer his impressive Ligue 1 form to the Premier League with ease despite some concerns about his suitability to English football.
The 26-year-old scored either side of half-time in Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over West Bromwich Ablion at the Emirates Stadium on Monday night to continue his impressive home form.
Lacazette is still waiting to score his first Premier League goal on the road, while the French forward has been rested for Arsenal’s Europa League games.
Former Arsenal defender Keown has backed Lacazette to become a better all-round striker at the north London club.
“He is an excellent signing,” Keown told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“When he plays for France, he will take on board what he has learned for Wenger and become a better player.”
Arsenal will host promoted side Brighton at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon in search of a sixth successive Premier League win.
The Gunners finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last term to miss out on a place in the Champions League.
Arsenal haven’t won the Premier League title since 2003-04.
