Paul Ince is backing Liverpool to claim a 3-1 victory over Newcastle United in their Premier League clash at St James’ Park on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds head into the game looking to make it back to back wins in the Premier League after their entertaining 3-2 victory over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium last weekend.

Jurgen Klopp’s men have struggled to find consistent form in the Premier League so far this season and have been criticised for their failure to keep a tight defence.

However, former Reds man Ince is expecting Liverpool to have too much against the Magpies in Sunday afternoon’s clash as the Merseyside outfit look to climb the Premier League table.

Writing in his column for the Daily Express, Ince said: “I’m expecting quite an exciting game here, with plenty of goals and lots of noisy fans.

“Liverpool are creating a load of chances at the moment, and if they’re clinical with them they’ll win this easy. But let’s be honest, they’ll probably concede too.”

Liverpool return to Premier League action after the international break with a crunch home clash against Manchester United on Saturday 14 October.

The Reds are aiming to challenge for the Premier League title this season after they ended up in fourth place in the table last term.

Klopp’s side were held to a 1-1 draw by Spartak Moscow in the group stage of the Champions League last week to leave them still searching for their first European win of the campaign.
