Antoine Griezmann talks up potential Man United transfer next year
Antoine Griezmann discusses the possibility of him signing for Manchester United in the future
Antoine Griezmann has fuelled talk of a possible transfer to Manchester United in the future by branding talk of a move to Old Trafford “a possibility”.
The France international was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League club last summer but he opted instead to stay at Atletico Madrid and extend his contract until 2022.
There is bound to be plenty of fresh speculation linking the 26-year-old with a move to Old Trafford in the coming weeks as the January transfer window draws closer.
It remains to be seen whether Manchester United will officially reignite their interest in signing Griezmann next year.
Now, however, Griezmann’s latest comments are sure to fuel fresh reports linking him with a switch to Old Trafford.
Writing in a new biography quoted by Spanish newspaper AS, Griezmann said: “In June , I extended my contract. I’m linked to the club until 2022.
“Although, I might be missing out on titles, I have everything here to be happy but that does not mean to say I won’t go one day.
“I haven’t made that decision. It all depends on various factors.
“I have nothing against England except for the weather. Manchester United is a possibility.”
Manchester United are currently preparing for their crunch Premier League clash against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon as they look to keep pace with Manchester City at the top of the table.
Jose Mourinho’s men are eight points behind the leaders and they welcome Pep Guardiola’s men to Old Trafford on 10 December in what could be a crunch clash in the title race.
