Spanish outlet Don Balon, as quoted by talkSPORT, is reporting that Bayern have recently joined the race for the 24-year-old striker because they are “fearful” of losing their talismanic forward Robert Lewandowski to Real Madrid.
As a result, Bayern have been drawing up a list of potential replacements for the Poland international, and Icardi is one of the top forwards on their list, according to the same story.
Icardi has been in superb form for Inter Milan so far this season, scoring 11 goals and making one assist in 12 Serie A games for the Italian club.
The same report says that both Arsenal and Chelsea are in the race for Icardi too, with the Premier League clubs said to have been on his trail for more than a year.
However, it also suggests that Bayern Munich would be the favourites for his signature if they were to firm up their interest in the striker.
Arsenal brought in a new striker in the summer transfer window as they landed Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon back in July.
