The Gunners back up their derby success with a 1-0 win at Burnley after the Chile international scored an added-time winner from the penalty spot at Turf Moor.
Arsenal finished outside the top four last season to miss out on a spot in the Champions League and condemn Arsene Wenger’s outfit to the Europa League for 2017-18.
Former Gunners midfielder Merson is confident Arsenal will record a third successive Premier League victory with a resounding win against promoted side Huddersfield Town on Wednesday night.
“A good result for Arsenal at Burnley, I thought that was a great result to go there, which is a hard place, and dig in and win,” Merson told Sky Sports.
“And I thought Huddersfield did great against Man City. I am going to go 3-0 to Arsenal as away from home, Huddersfield are a lot different to what they are at home – Bournemouth beat them 4-0 at home.”
Arsenal haven’t won the Premier League title since 2003-04 thanks to an impressive unbeaten season under Wenger.
The Gunners have won the FA Cup three times in the past four seasons thanks to victories over Hull City, Aston Villa and Chelsea.
Wenger signed Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac in the summer transfer window.
