Gary Neville: Arsenal trio set the tone in win over Tottenham
The Man United legend heaps praise on Arsenal trio Alexandre Lacazette, Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez

Gary Neville has credited Alexandre Lacazette, Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez with setting the tone for Arsenal’s 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur in Saturday’s north London derby.
The France international started his first derby clash alongside his big-name signings after Arsene Wenger was criticised for leaving out his summer signing at Manchester City last time out.
Ozil teed up German defender Shkodran Mustafi to break the deadlock in the first half before Lacazette teed up Sanchez to double the home side’s advantage.
The World Cup winner was named man of the match for an uncharacteristically tenacious performance in Arsenal’s 2-0 win against their bitter rivals Tottenham.
Ozil and Sanchez have been regularly criticised for their poor performance and poor attitude over the past 12 months amid talk of the pair leaving Arsenal on a free transfer next summer.
However, former Manchester United defender Neville heaped praise on Lacazette, Ozil and Sanchez for leading by example on the pitch in the derby clash.
“It was the intriguing thing. It had to be the front three. They were the intriguing battle,” Neville told his Sky Sports podcast.
“Would they be at it? Would they turn up? They turned up. They pressed and made the Tottenham back three nervous.
“The front three won the game in terms of them setting the tone.”
Ozil has been linked with a controversial switch to Manchester United where he could link up with former Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho.
Sanchez, on the other hand, has been touted as a potential signing for Manchester City.
