Arsene Wenger promised Arsenal fans that the Gunners will look to get their campaign back on track in the coming weeks after they moved into fourth place in the Premier League with a 1-0 win at Burnley.

After a goalless first half at Turf Moor, Alexis Sanchez scored a penalty to win the game deep into stoppage time to wrap up all three points for the Gunners.

The victory followed last weekend’s 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur and it lifted Arsenal up into fourth place in the Premier League table.

Arsenal do not have too long to recover as they immediately switch their attentions back towards Premier League affairs and their crunch clash against Huddersfield Town on Wednesday night.

And Wenger moved to play down the significance of the Gunners moving back into the top four on Sunday afternoon.

Speaking to BBC Sport after the game, Wenger said: “It’s early, it [the top four] changes from one week to another.

“We wanted to win away from home and we did it. Let’s focus on the next one.”

Reflecting on the game as a whole, Wenger added: “In the first half we didn’t find our game, they stopped us from playing very well.

“In the second half it was a question of the final ball and patience, not making a mistake at the back.

“We changed a bit of shape (at half time), I felt we had to give more.”

Arsenal are aiming to at least finish in the top four this season after the Gunners ended up fifth in the table last term.

Wenger has come under fire at The Emirates in recent seasons after failing to guide Arsenal to the Premier League title since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 campaign.
