Graeme Souness has warned Arsenal that they will need to keep their game up when they travel to Burnley in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Gunners earned plenty of praise for their performance on Saturday as they secured an impressive 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at The Emirates.

Goals from Shkodran Mustafi and Alexis Sanchez in the first half wrapped up victory for Arsene Wenger’s men in front of their home fans and moved Arsenal to within just one point of their bitter local rivals.

Arsenal, however, remain quite some way off the pace in the race for the Premier League title.

The Gunners are still sixth in the table and 12 points behind leaders Manchester City after 12 games of the new campaign.

Their next Premier League test is a clash against Burnley at Turf Moor on Sunday as they look to make it back to back wins in the top flight.

And former Liverpool star Souness has warned the Gunners that they will need to make sure that they’re at their best against the Clarets.

Speaking on Sky Sports after Arsenal’s win over Spurs, Souness said: “They go to Burnley next week.

“They’re going to get in their faces and mess them around physically to see if they can deal with it.

“Will Mesut Ozil turn up for that game? Will Alexis Sanchez be the same enthusiastic, exciting player?

“To win the Premier League, you have to have a couple of hats that you can wear.”

Arsenal have not won the Premier League since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 campaign.
