Jack Wilshere has a message for Arsenal fans after their 3-1 loss to Manchester City on Sunday

Jack Wilshere has taken to social media to issue a rallying cry ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League showdown with rivals Tottenham Hotspur after the international break.

Wilshere came on as a second-half substitute on Sunday as Arsenal slumped to a disappointing 3-1 loss to Manchester City in the Premier League.

That defeat dealt a further blow to Arsenal’s title hopes and left Arsene Wenger’s men 12 points behind leaders Manchester City after just 11 games of the season.

Arsenal will now have to dust themselves down during the international break as they look to return to winning ways against their bitter local rivals at The Emirates on Saturday 18 November.

And Wilshere, who has been working his way back to full fitness and has impressed for the Gunners in recent weeks, is determined to help Arsenal put things right against Spurs.

Wilshere posted the picture above on Instagram after Sunday’s game and wrote the caption: “Not the result we wanted. Thanks to the fans for your support.

“Big one in a couple of weeks. The hard work continues ⚽️💪.”

Arsenal are aiming to win the Premier League title this season for the first time since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 campaign.

The Gunners missed out on Champions League qualification last season as they ended up in fifth place in the Premier League table.

They did, however, win the FA Cup for the third time in four years.
