Martin Keown believes Arsenal look lost under Arsene Wenger following a 3-1 loss to Manchester City last weekend.

The Gunners slumped to a fourth defeat on the road to leave their title hopes in tatters following a disappointing start to the season.

Arsenal have already lost at Stoke City, Liverpool and Watford before goals from Kevin De Bruyne, Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus sealed a comfortable win.

The north London side are in sixth place in the Premier League table and 12 points behind Pep Guardiola’s men in the title race.

Arsene Wenger made the controversial decision to start with Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez at the Eastlands outfit despite the duo’s reluctance to commit to Arsenal.

Summer signing Alexandre Lacazette came off the bench to score a consolation goal, while Jack Wilshere impressed from the bench.

Former Arsenal defender Keown raised concerns about the Gunners’s lack of direction under Wenger.

“Arsenal were lukewarm against Manchester City. Where is the ambition? Where is the club going now?” Keown told the Daily Mail.

“This summer, Arsene Wenger will be entering the final year of his contract while Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez look like they will be leaving.

“The club will be at a crossroads and it must be draining for the players.

“What will it take to play players like Jack Wilshere, who actually want to play for the club?”

The north London side finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last term to miss out on a spot in the Champions League.

Arsenal haven’t won the Premier League title since 2003-04 when Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira were in their pomp.
