Rio Ferdinand: What Arsene Wenger must do to make Arsenal real force
The Man United legend believes Arsene Wenger needs Arsenal to replicate their derby performance on a weekly basis to become a real force

Rio Ferdinand has challenged Arsene Wenger to get his Arsenal team to replicate their derby performance on a weekly basis to establish themselves as a real Premier League force.
The Gunners upset the odds with a brilliant performance in Saturday’s 2-0 victory over title rivals Tottenham in the north London derby at the Emirates Stadium.
Mesut Ozil produced a deft cross to tee up his fellow German international Shkodran Mustafi in the first half before Alexis Sanchez finished high into the roof of the net to double the lead.
Arsenal remain in sixth place in the Premier League table but moved to within a point of Tottenham in fourth place in the Premier League table.
Wenger’s side have won six successive top-flight games at The Emirates in the Premier League this season thanks to victories over Leicester, West Brom, Swansea, Bournemouth and Brighton.
Former Manchester United defender Ferdinand opened up about what Arsenal must do to establish themselves as a real force in the Premier League again.
“When you see Arsenal like that [as against Tottenham], they’re fantastic,” Ferdinand told Premier League Tonight on BT Sport.
“You’d pay to watch them play. If Arsene Wenger gets them playing like that every week, they’ll be a force to be reckoned with.”
Arsenal haven’t won the Premier League title since 2003-04 when Wenger’s men managed to finish the season unbeaten.
The Gunners signed Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette and Schalke 04 defender Sead Kolasinac in the summer transfer window.
