The pair both endured afternoons to forget on Sunday as the Gunners slumped to a disappointing 3-1 loss to Manchester City at The Etihad to further dent their Premier League title hopes.
That result left Arsenal 12 points behind the leaders after 11 games of the season and seemingly already out of the Premier League title race.
There has been constant speculation about Ozil and Sanchez’s futures at The Emirates in recent months after both players entered into the final 12 months of their contracts.
It seems increasingly likely that neither of the pair will sign new contracts with the north London club, meaning that they could leave for free next summer, unless Arsenal decided to cash-in in January.
Now, former Arsenal defender Keown feels that it’s time for Wenger to consider dropping the pair if they have no long-term futures at the club.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Keown said: “Sanchez and Mesut Ozil did not have good games [against Manchester City].
“If they are not going to sign contracts, then Arsenal have to start looking to the future.”
Arsenal, who finished fifth last season, will aim to try and get back to winning ways in the Premier League when they host Tottenham Hotspur at The Emirates on Saturday 18 November.
