The Spanish playmaker has not featured for the north London side since suffering a serious Achilles injury last October and requiring countless operations to try and correct the problem.
Cazorla’s recovery has been littered with problems and it is still not known exactly when the playmaker will be fit enough to make his return to action for the Gunners.
Wenger was quizzed about Cazorla’s situation before Arsenal’s trip to Burnley in the Premier League on Sunday, and the Gunners boss admitted that he is waiting for an update from the player, who is not yet back in full training.
Asked about Cazorla, Wenger told a news conference before Sunday’s game: “I hope to see him soon, that he comes over to give an update.”
Arsenal will return to Premier League action on Wednesday night when they take on Huddersfield Town at The Emirates.
The north London side are aiming to at least break back into the top four this season after they missed out on a place in the Champions League this term following their fifth-placed finish last term.
Arsenal have not won the Premier League since their famous unbeaten triumph back in 2003-04.
