Arsene Wenger has revealed that Sead Kolasinac will undergo a late fitness test ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Manchester City on Sunday.

The summer signing has been struggling with a hip injury and he sat out the Europa League clash with Red Star Belgrade on Thursday night.

Kolasinac has been earning plenty of praise for his performances for Arsenal since signing for the Gunners from Schalke on a free transfer in the summer.

It remains to be seen whether he will be ready for Arsenal’s crunch clash against Manchester City on Sunday afternoon at The Etihad.

And Wenger delivered the following update on the Bosnian ahead of Sunday’s clash with Pep Guardiola’s men.

Speaking at a news conference on Wednesday, Kolasinac said: “Today [Wednesday] he was much better.

“He will have a test at the end of the week. He’s not ruled out of Sunday’s game yet, but of course he’s not involved on Thursday.

“It’s not as bad as we feared at the start.”

Arsenal head into their clash with Manchester City knowing that a win against Pep Guardiola’s leaders would close the gap to top spot down to four points.

The Citizens have been the standout team in the Premier League this season, with Manchester City currently five points clear of closest challengers Manchester United at the top of the Premier League table.

Arsenal finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season as they missed out on Champions League qualification.
