Jamie Redknapp claims Totteham should be worried about this Arsenal star
The Spurs legend names Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey as the danger man for Tottenham in the north London derby this weekend
Jamie Redknapp admits he would be worried about Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey if the retired Spurs captain was still in the Tottenham dressing room.
The Wales international has been one of the few positives for Arsenal in an otherwise disappointing start to the Premier League season.
Ramsey has scored three goals and has made three assists in 10 appearances in the Premier League this term to help keep Arsenal involved in the top-four race.
His ability to make bursting runs into the opposition half has earned the Welshman plenty of praise and Ramsey was one of the few players to emerge with credit from a 3-1 loss at Manchester City before the international break.
The 26-year-old has scored two goals and made two assists in Arsenal’s victories over Everton and Swansea City before a 3-1 loss to the Premier League leaders.
Former Spurs midfielder Redknapp singled out Ramsey as the danger man ahead of the north London derby at The Emirates on Saturday afternoon.
“Aaron Ramsey, in particular, is the player I’d be worried about if I was in the Tottenham dressing room,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.
“With the tactical change they’ve made, moving him further forward, he’s able to make the runs from deep and that really adds to his game. He’s got so much energy, he’s a box-to-box player and he’s a threat – as he showed against Manchester City. Ramsey is key to this game from Arsenal’s point of view.”
Arsenal have won all five of their Premier League games at the Emirates Stadium last term thanks to victories over Leicester City, West Brom, Brighton, Swansea City and West Brom.
The Gunners finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last term.
