Tim Sherwood admits he can’t envisage Arsenal beating Tottenham Hotspur at The Emirates on Saturday afternoon.
Arsene Wenger’s side will look to deliver a blow to their north London rivals’ hopes of winning a first Premier League title.
Tottenham are in third place and eight points behind runaway Premier League leaders Manchester City after 11 games.
Spurs were 1-0 winners against Crystal Palace at Wembley last time out to bounce back from the disappointment of a 1-0 loss at second-placed Manchester United last month.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men were 2-0 winners against Arsenal in the last-ever game at White Hart Lane last season.
Arsenal lost 3-1 to leaders Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium at the start of November to leave them four points adrift of Tottenham.
The Gunners haven’t beaten Tottenham in the Premier League at The Emirates since Olivier Giroud’s 23rd-minute winner in a 1-0 victory in September 2013.
Former Spurs boss Sherwood believes Spurs will run out comfortable winners against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium this weekend.
“I’m trying to find an argument for Arsenal. I can’t. I think Tottenham will win comfortably,” Sherwood told The Debate on Sky Sports on Wednesday night.
Tottenham finished in second place in the Premier League table last term and seven points adrift of eventual champions Chelsea.
Arsenal, on the other hand, won the FA Cup thanks to a 2-1 win against Chelsea at Wembley.
