Arsenal want to sign top 24-year-old attacker to replace Alexis Sanchez – report
Arsenal are hoping to sell Alexis Sanchez in the January transfer window and sign Julian Draxler in return, according to reports
Arsenal have placed Paris Saint-Germain forward Julian Draxler at the top of their wishlist to replace Alexis Sanchez in the January transfer window, according to reports.
The Daily Star is reporting that Arsenal are ready to sign the Germany international to replace Sanchez in the next transfer window, with Manchester City being linked with a move for the Chile international.
The same article states that the Gunners could sell Sanchez if Arsenal receive a £30m offer for the 28-year-old forward in January.
According to Starsport, Arsene Wenger would rather Sanchez complete a switch to Ligue 1 giants PSG and Arsenal sign promising Germany international Draxler as part of the deal.
The 24-year-old is no stranger to being linked with the Premier League and Arsenal, while Liverpool have also been touted as a potential destination for Draxler in the past.
Draxler has fallen down the pecking order following Neymar’s world-record £198m move to Ligue 1 giants PSG from La Liga outfit Barcelona in the summer transfer window.
The German star has scored two goals and has made two assists in nine appearances in Ligue 1 this term, while Draxler has made one assist in four Champions League games.
Arsenal are in sixth place in the Premier League table and 12 points behind leaders Manchester City.
