Arsenal are keeping close tabs on Steven Gerrard’s 16-year-old cousin Bobby Duncan as the striker continues to impress for Manchester City, according to reports.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Gunners’ interest was piqued after Duncan scored the winner for England’s Under-17s team against Portugal earlier this week.
The same article states Duncan has was called up to the Under-20s squad in the Three Lions set-up as the promising forward becomes the latest star breakthrough from Manchester City’s flourishing academy.
Arsenal are one of a number of Premier League clubs who are monitoring the Manchester City teenager following his performances in the international scene.
Duncan was the match-winner for England Under-17s side during the week after he scored a long-range strike not too dissimilar to his cousin Gerrard against Portugal.
His effort sealed a 3-2 comeback win and secured some headlines in the British media as the former Liverpool captain’s cousin leaves his own mark on the England set-up.
Gerrard finished with 114 caps for the England national team during a long international career. The Champions League winner scored 21 times for the Three Lions.
The retired Liverpool skipper was unable to lead England to a final at a major tournament following disappointing in three World Cups and three European championships.
