Arsenal want to sign 24-year-old Lyon attacking midfielder – report
Arsenal and Barcelona are both keen on signing Lyon attacking midfielder Nabil Fekir, say reports
Arsenal are keeping tabs on Lyon attacking midfielder Nabil Fekir with a view to a possible January transfer move, according to reports in Spain.
Spanish newspaper Sport, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Gunners are interested in signing the 24-year-old midfielder as Arsene Wenger considers bolstering his squad at The Emirates.
The same report states that Fekir’s fine performances this season have attracted interest from Barcelona.
However, it also claims that Wenger has a “keen interest” in Fekir and views him as a potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez, who continues to be linked with a move away from the club.
Should he secure a move to The Emirates, Fekir would link up with his former Lyon team-mate Alexandre Lacazette in north London.
The midfielder has made a fine start to the new season with Lyon, scoring 11 goals and making four assists in 11 Ligue 1 games for the French side so far this term.
Arsenal are currently preparing for their crunch Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur at The Emirates on Saturday lunchtime as they look to bounce back from their 3-1 defeat by Manchester City before the international break.
The north London side are currently sixth in the table and 12 points behind the leaders after 11 games.
