Arsenal plan £35m bid for 25-year-old striker as Sanchez replacement – report
Arsenal want to sign Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace in a £35m deal, according to reports
Arsenal are lining up a £35m bid to sign Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace as a potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez, according to reports in the British media.
The Sun is reporting that Arsene Wenger is preparing for Sanchez to leave the north London side and has targeted the former Manchester United forward as a potential replacement.
However, the same story claims that Palace are “determined” to try and keep Saha at Selhurst Park, despite them being “braced” for interest in the Ivory Coast international.
The report says that Wenger believes that the 25-year-old has the quality to replace Sanchez, who is expected to leave The Emirates either in January or in the summer transfer window, when his current contract is due to expire.
The story says that Wenger likes the idea of Zaha joining the Gunners because he has a proven track record in the Premier League.
Sanchez’s future at The Emirates has been a relentless source of speculation in recent months after both he and Mesut Ozil entered into the final 12 months of their contracts at the club.
It remains to be seen whether Sanchez could be sold in the January transfer window and if Arsenal choose to cash in rather than risk losing him for nothing next summer.
