Steven Gerrard: Chelsea star is the complete player, he has everything
The Liverpool FC legend admits there is no weakness in Eden Hazard's game ahead of Chelsea's trip to Anfield on Saturday evening
Steven Gerrard has admitted that there is no weakness in Eden Hazard’s game ahead of Chelsea’s trip to Liverpool on Saturday evening.
The Belgium international started the season on the sidelines after the forward broke his ankle during national team duty at the end of the 2016-17 season.
Hazard returned to the Chelsea side at the end of September before he scored his first goal of the current campaign in a 1-0 win at Bournemouth in the Premier League.
The 26-year-old netted twice in a 3-3 draw with AS Roma before he helped Chelsea to ease to a 1-0 win against bitter title rivals Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.
Hazard produced his best performance of the 2017-18 season in a 4-0 victory over West Brom last weekend thanks to the forward’s two goals and assist at The Hawthorns.
The former Lille man broke the deadlock in Chelsea’s 4-0 win against Qarabag in the Champions League on Wednesday night to secure their place in the last 16 of the competition.
Former Liverpool captain Gerrard warned Jurgen Klopp’s team that Hazard has everything ahead of their Premier League clash at Anfield on Saturday evening.
“He’s got everything,” Gerrard told BT Sport.
“He can score goals, he can create goals, he’s got vision, speed and he’s direct. His awareness for the little backheel to Willian [for the second goal against Qarabag] was sensational. It was a world-class moment right there.”
Hazard scored 30 times in Chelsea’s title-winning seasons under Jose Mourinho and then Antonio Conte.
