Antonio Conte warns Chelsea that they are in for a tough test of their Premier League credentials against Man United
Antonio Conte has warned Chelsea that they are in for a “tough” test of their Premier League title credentials when they host Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
The Blues head into the game after having secured back to back victories in the top flight against both Watford and Bournemouth.
Those results have left Chelsea in fourth place in the Premier League table and nine points behind leaders Manchester City after 10 games of the new campaign.
Manchester United, meanwhile, are preparing for their trip to west London after having sealed an impressive 1-0 victory over Tottenham in the Premier League at Old Trafford last weekend.
The Blues sealed a thrilling 4-0 victory over Jose Mourinho’s men in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge in the same fixture last season.
However, with the Red Devils currently four points ahead of them in the table, Conte has warned his side that they have plenty of work to do.
Speaking at a news conference on Monday, Conte said: “After this [the Roma game] we have to try to prepare for a another tough game against United in the league.
“We have to take it game by game and we will try to do our best in every single competition.”
Manchester United are aiming to win the Premier League for the first time since Sir Alex Ferguson’s final campaign in charge in the 2012-13 season.
Chelsea, meanwhile, are trying to defend their title after lifting the trophy last season.
