Antonio Conte opens up about Eden Hazard ahead of Qarabag v Chelsea
Antonio Conte has been thrilled by Eden Hazard's recent upturn in form with Chelsea
Antonio Conte has admitted that he has been thrilled by Eden Hazard’s recent good form for Chelsea.
The Belgian playmaker was named as the man of the match as the Blues recorded an impressive 4-0 victory over West Brom in the Premier League at The Hawthorns on Saturday.
Hazard scored twice to help Conte’s men claim the three points and move up to third place in the Premier League table.
The 26-year-old appears to be hitting top form for Chelsea once again after having spent the summer recovering from a serious ankle injury suffered while on international duty with Belgium.
And Chelsea boss Conte has been thrilled by what he has seen from Hazard in recent weeks following his sparkling display against the Baggies.
Speaking to Chelsea’s website after the game, Conte said: “I think to see Eden in this form is very important for me.”
He continued: “I think this season, we faced a lot of problems from the start and now we are trying to solve these problems, to recall players, to find the right form for players like, for example, Eden and it is the same for Morata who is playing his first season in England.”
Conte is now preparing his Chelsea team for their crunch clash against Qarabag in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
The west London side will then turn their attentions towards their Premier League showdown with Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday afternoon as they look to continue their title bid.
Chelsea are currently third and nine points off top spot after 12 games of the new campaign.
