The 21-year-old has emerged as a potential target for Arsenal in recent days following his lack of playing time at Stamford Bridge, if the latest reports in France are to be believed.
The attacking midfielder has been linked with the Gunners after having only made four appearances in all competitions for Chelsea so far this season, and two of those were as a substitute.
The Belgium international is clearly keen to hold down a regular spot in the starting line-up at Stamford Bridge under Antonio Conte this season.
However, his international manager Martinez feels that Musonda should ignore the transfer speculation about his future and instead concentrate on winning a place in the first team at the west London club.
Martinez told So Foot: “We all know his talent, but he’s reached a period in his life where he needs to play.
“In fact, the club wanted to loan him, but he didn’t want to go because he thought he would be playing.
“In that case, it’s quite hard to moan about your situation. ‘You need to distinguish two things with young players. Their potential and their performances.”
Musonda will be hoping to be involved when Chelsea return to Premier League action with a crunch home clash against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
The Blues are currently nine points behind leaders Manchester City in the race for the title after 10 games of the new campaign.
